Hungry Will goes Soc.

Hungry Will
I am just having a blast with our social media. It is a very fun distraction when I need a little break from all of these final papers ... (should I admit that? Probably not.) ADK Shakes has had a Facebook page for awhile now, and I even created a Twitter account for us earlier this year.

But now ... we have an amazing intern for media and public relations, Jessica. And last night, Jessica emailed me to see if we have a Twitter account for Hungry Will, our elusive mascot. So now we do! And she has also introduced me to HootSuite so I can manage all of these fun pages and accounts.

If you haven't already "Like"d us on Facebook -- search Adirondack Shakespeare Company. You can also now "Like" Hungry Will. (And share us with your friends! We are so close to breaking the 300 mark.)

Follow us also on Twitter @adkshakes and @hungrywill.

April, where have you gone?

I cannot let April pass without a single blog entry! But I am in the crunch of final papers (three of them due next week on consecutive days), so it will have to be a short one.

First, don't forget that only a few days remain on our special, pre-order pricing for ADK Shakes t-shirts. $15 per shirt through May 1. After May 1, prices go up to $20 and we will be placing our full order for the season. I can't wait to get mine!

Also, I'm excited to begin introducing our cast to you. I'll be doing a series of posts to introduce you to our company this year. I cannot fully express how humbling it is to have the opportunity, not only to work with this amazing group but also to have been introduced to so much talent and passion in our entire audition process. I have not yet been able to be in touch with everyone who came out to audition for us this year (once the semester ends, I promise!). Thank you all for sharing your work and your deepest selves with us. I am currently working on our season calendar for 2012, and I hope that you will all come out to audition again. It is one of the downfalls of keeping each acting company small and tight-knit. Hundreds of talented people come out, and I can hire perhaps two dozen each year. So - actors! Keep your eyes on your inbox for info from us on next year's auditions.

I'm planning to being posting much more regularly once the semester is over. I am so excited about this coming season and there will be a lot to share with everyone. For now, get your t-shirt orders in to info@adkshakes.org and log our season dates into your calendar:

The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) Adirondack Tour opens July 3 and runs through August 6
The Mainstage Season (A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Merchant of Venice) opens July 21 and runs through August 7
Our original children's production of Theseus and the Minotaur opens July 27 and runs through August 6

We can't wait to see you this summer!
